Sun Fook Kong is Honored in the Quality Building Award 2012arrow
(Hong Kong, 13 June 2012) One of the significant projects of Sun Fook Kong, the re-provisioning of David Trench Rehabilitation Centre, has received the Annual Merit Award (in renew and revitalizing section) of the Quality Building Award 2012. This is contributed to the strong team spirit within Sun Fook Kong’s project team, and reflects a trusted reputation on its project quality.

With an aim to promote a collective commitment by the building industry to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and competitiveness, nine professional parties including the Hong Kong Construction Association, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers, the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the Hong Kong Institution of Housing, the Hong Kong Institution of Surveyors, the International Facility Management Association – Hong Kong Chapter, the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agent and the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong have jointly organized the biennial “Quality Building Award”. Entries are judged by a wide range of criteria such as cost and its effectiveness, construction technique, quality, architectural and facility management.

The MTR West Island Line Contract – “Re-provisioning of David Trench Rehabilitation Centre” commenced in July 2009. The project involved the revitalization of a Grade 3 Historic Building – the ex-Upper Levels Police Station and the construction of a new tower on the north side of the building. It lasted for 21 months and was completed in March, 2011 with the contract sum over HK$300 million.

The Re-provisioning of David Trench Rehabilitation Centre was one of the most important projects of MTR West Island Line construction, and Sun Fook Kong had strived at its best to complete it in a safe, professional and highly efficient manner with outstanding quality. Sun Fook Kong will always cooperate with its clients to complete more high quality building for the future of Hong Kong.
