(Hong Kong, 27 March 2019) The 2019 Outstanding Apprentices Award Presentation Ceremony organized by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) was held on 27 March. In recognition of the exemplary performance of 16 apprentices, the Award encourages them to keep shining in their trades with their professional knowledge and skills. Mr. Chan Chak Yuen from Sun Fook Kong was awarded the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Outstanding Apprentices Awards based on his outstanding performance.
 
A total of 242 registered apprentices were nominated by employers for the Outstanding Apprentices Award Scheme. 34 of them were shortlisted for the final round interview. Eventually the judging panel handpicked 12 apprentices to be awarded the Outstanding Apprentices Awards and four to be awarded Sir Edward Youde Memorial Outstanding Apprentice Awards. Winning apprentices come from different professional sectors like aircraft engineering and maintenance, building services engineering, railroad transportation and automotive engineering. A study and exchange tour to Dubai and Abu Dhabi was arranged for the awarded apprentices. They visited local schools and enterprises there and were apprised of the local development in renewable energy, technology and tourism.
Sun Fook Kong will endeavor to assist the apprentices or new-comers to acquire a correct value, knowledge and to well-equip themselves to provide the support of their respective industrial actors.
