3 Construction Sites of Sun Fook Kong were awarded in the Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme 2012
(Hong Kong, 31 May 2013) 3 construction sites of Sun Fook Kong were awarded in the Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme 2012. The Award Presentation Ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 31 May 2013.
The Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme is co-organized by the Development Bureau and the Construction industry Council which aims to boost the building of a responsible and considerate attitude and to promote good site safety, health and environmental practices in the construction industry. The scheme has set several awards and the assessment was based on one’s site safety, law abiding, site management, environmental consciousness, being considerate to neighborhood and passers-by, care of workers and others.
3 construction sites of Sun Fook Kong were awarded for their outstanding performance. Two of the sites, including the “Harbour Area Treatment Scheme Stage 2A - Upgrading Works at Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works - Main Pumping Station, Sedimentation Tanks and Ancillary Facilities” and “Kai Tak Cruise Terminal Development - On-shore Sewage Collection, On-shore Fresh Water Supply, and Fire Hydrant Water Supply Systems” received the Merit of the new construction category; while “Term Contract for Alterations, Additions, Maintenance and Repair of Buildings and Lands and Other Properties for which the Architectural Services Department (Properties Services Branch) is Responsible for the Government of the HKSAR (Designated Contract Area - Hong Kong Island Western, Southern & Lantau Island)” received both the Merit Award and the Outstanding Environmental Management & Performance Merit Award of repairment, maintenance, alteration and addition works category.
As a social enterprise, Sun Fook Kong shall strive to enhance further its site safety and environmental practices and shall continue to take effort to reduce the risks to the public and workers, to mitigate nuisances and to protect the environment with an aim to create more considerate construction sites in future.
The team,“Term Contract for Alterations, Additions, Maintenance and Repair of Buildings and Lands and Other Properties for which the Architectural Services Department (Properties Services Branch) is Responsible for the Government of the HKSAR (Designated Contract Area - Hong Kong Island Western, Southern & Lantau Island)” received both the Merit Award and the Outstanding Environmental Management & Performance Merit Award of repairment, maintenance, alteration and addition works category.
