(Hong Kong, 16 July 2015) One of the significant projects of Sun Fook Kong Construction Group, the construction of the Performing Arts Block of King George V School, has received the Merit Award (in institutional category) in the FuturArc Green Leadership Awards 2015. This is partly contributed to the outstanding environmental performance of Sun Fook Kong during the construction stage, and reflects a trusted reputation on its project quality.
FuturArc Green Leadership Award 2015 which is organized by FuturArc Journal, is a competition among the foremost Green building design in Asia. The aim of the competition is to recognize the team behind a completed project: the developer, consultants and contractors, who have collectively pushed the limits and definition of what a Green building is and have demonstrated the best in innovation and environmental stewardship in architecture. The panel of jury comprises of professors and leaders in the architecture and construction practice in India, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong.
The winning project was commenced in 2011. It comprised the construction of a Performing Arts Block which could blend well with the existing site context in the campus of one of the oldest schools in Hong Kong – King George V School, in response to the spatial needs for expansion of campus facilities.
Sun Fook Kong has actively adopted environmentally responsible practices and employed green construction techniques to preserve the environment and conserve resources in all its projects.
