(Hong Kong, 23 June 2018) “LOVE IS ALL AROUND” The 1^st Hong Kong Chinese & English Essay-Writing Competition, sponsored by Lu and Marisa Charitable Foundation, organized by Hong Kong Federation of Journalists and co-organized by Sun Fook Kong was completed successfully. On 23 June, the prize-giving ceremony was held in Cordis Hotel.
 
The theme of the competition is “filial piety”.  The organizer hoped to raise awareness of Chinese tradition through the competition. Mr. Lo Kai Shui Lu, Founder of Lu and Marisa Charitable Foundation and Chairman of Sun Fook Kong Group, stated that filial piety is an important Chinese value. It helps one’s being humble and the more is to achieve a higher level of moral cultivation. Through the competition, he hoped this traditional value can be kept passing on.
 
There were over 2,000 passages received. The competition was divided into three eligibility including Primary School, Secondary School and Open Section and two divisions, the Chinese Division and the English Division in each eligibility. It is hoped that the participants can express their views on filial piety through writing, not only showing off their talents. Winners in each divisions and eligibility read out their works in the ceremony.
 
Mr. Tsang Yok Sing, Jasper, the Honorary Director of Organizing Committee, also the President, the 4^th and 5^th Legislative Council of the HKSAR, said that prize-winners not only feel the excitement when receiving the award, but the most important thing is they would feel the joy while they were expressing their feelings during process of writing. It is believed that if the teens keep the writing habit, it will definitely help with their personal growth.
